I'm Walkin'

"I'm Walkin'" is a 1957 single by Fats Domino. The song was written by Domino and Dave Bartholomew.

The single was Fats Domino's third release in a row to reach number one on the R&B Best Sellers chart, where it stayed for six weeks. The single also continued Fats Domino's crossover appeal when "I'm Walkin'" peaked at number four on the pop singles chart^[1].

Notable cover versions

Later in 1957, Ricky Nelson performed the song on an episode of his parents' show, The Adventures of Ozzie & Harriet. Ricky Nelson's version was released as a single, which reached number four on the pop singles chart and number ten on the R&B charts^[2].

In 2007, the song was covered by Tom Petty and the Heartbreakers on the tribute album Goin' Home: A Tribute to Fats Domino (Vanguard).
